Become a Steward of the Source and Sea

The health of our local waterways depends on a community of informed, active guardians. Whether you are a homeowner, a business owner, or a curious neighbor, there is a place for you in the HMS network.

This could be you!

Take a look at how we work and see if our mission resonates with you.

In a founding volunteer, we aren’t just looking for a pair of hands—we’re looking for a partner in building this mission. Since you will be part of the very first cohort for Headwaters & Marine Stewards, your role is unique; you’re helping to set the standard for everyone who follows.

How You Can Get Involved

1. Enroll in a “Vital Cycles” Workshop

Dive deep into the science of our region. Our workshops translate the Water, Carbon, Nitrogen, and Phosphorus cycles into practical skills you can use in your local landscape.

  • Best for: Students, educators, and lifelong learners.

2. Corporate & Small Business Partnerships

Is your business looking to lead in local sustainability? We provide educational consulting and stewardship plans tailored to your industry, helping you align your operations with the health of the Seacoast.

  • Best for: Fellow Chamber of Commerce members and local entrepreneurs.

3. Community Monitoring Network

Help us gather the data that protects our waters. We provide the tools and training to monitor local headwaters and marine estuaries, feeding real-time information into our educational resources.

Best for: Residents who want to get their boots wet and make a tangible impact.
